Gome of the Week
People who buy used celebrity gum on Ebay:
Wow, that is truly on the top of the heap of pathetic loserness.
This Week's Link That's Probably Not That Great
The Horse Diaper - The future is now.
This Week's Movie You've Probably Never Seen
Logan's Run (1976)
the world is now a controlled pleasure dome where people voluntarily kill themselves at 30 in order to keep the population from becoming out of hand. logan sees fault with this and runs away.
this thing is so disco-era that is brilliant with feathered hair, loose hanging bright clothes, and even the requisite farrah fawcett-majors bit part.
the end is a bit preachy but the miniature city sets that look like "fraggle rock" more than make up for it.
i heard they are doing a remake which makes sense because i think that it is the last decent movie that hasn't been remade yet. i mean the world was just waiting for another "manchurian candidate," weren't they?
This Week's Record You're Probably Not Listening To
Big Town Zero - Big Town Zero (2003)
God, I meant to put this CD up like a year ago to give my friends some props and damn if I didn't forget. So like me.
Anyway, Joe Talik cranks out some tunes here with a big helping hand from Mr. Scott Bauer and it's quite a piece of work.
Sleepy, ambient melodies that float along in way that doesn't make you tired.
This Week's Hip New Slang Word or Phrase
wissaw - A sweet variation on "what's up?" so you don't have to say "wazzuuuup!"
Origin - laziness.
Usage - "Dude, that yahtzee I was with last night wanted to break her cherryoke."
"Did you take her to the Beezee Reezee?"
"Yep. Safe to say she's well on her way to becoming a 'roke ho."
"Dude. The next time I see her I'll be like 'Damn girl, wissaw?'"
